Introducing Vassilena Valchanova - one of the Translations Collider Academy speakers.

Vassilena Valchanova is a content marketing strategist and brand messaging expert. She has more than 15 years of experience in marketing strategy and customer research, content marketing planning, brand positioning, and conversion copywriting. She also works with B2B services agencies and individual consultants who want to step up their personal branding. 

Vassy is passionate about sharing what she knows: she authors a blog on marketing strategy, content, and messaging, speaks at events, has a video-on-demand course, and offers custom training and workshops. 

During the Translations Collider Academy, Vassilena will be moderating the Digital Marketing panel.

AGATA ETMANOWICZ

Introducing Agata Etmanowicz - one of the Translations Collider Academy speakers.

For the past 10 years, together with Impact Foundation, Agata Etmanowicz supports culture organizations in placing audiences at the heart of everything they do by spreading the joy of working according to audience development philosophy.

Agata's specialty is 'connecting the dots' - she asks a lot of questions and encourages others to ask questions. She designs and conducts not only workshops but also processes and programs for professionals in the cultural sector - industry-specific, cross-industry, and for specific organizations.

During the Translations Collider Academy, Agata will be moderating the Audience Development panel.

ANNOUNCEMENT 2 - Balkan Translations Collider Academy

The Second Session of the Translations Collider Academy on Literary Management and Translation Promotion is just around the corner, launching on May 18 in Durrës, Albania. 

 

During the five-day program, more than 30 literary and book professionals from the countries of the European Union and the Western Balkans, will present and promote their work, engage in discussions, learn from success stories, catalyze new partnerships, and build a lasting network of like-minded people. 

 

The Academy's Program will also offer presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops mentored by experienced book and cultural policy professionals.

Gjatë Programit pesëditor, më shumë se 30 profesionistë të letërsisë dhe librit nga vendet e Bashkimit Europian dhe të Ballkanit Perëndimor, do të paraqesin dhe promovojnë punën e tyre, do të përfshihen në diskutime, do të mësojnë nga historitë e suksesit, do të nxisin partneritete të reja dhe do të ndërtojnë një rrjet të qëndrueshëm mes njerëzve me mendime të njëjta.

 

Programi i Akademisë do të ofrojë gjithashtu prezantime, diskutime në panel dhe punëtori praktike të udhëhequra nga profesionistë me përvojë në fushë të librit dhe të politikave kulturore.

Recollections from Academy, Session 1

The first session of the international Translations Collider Academy on Literary Management

and Translation Promotion was held last spring in the beautiful Struga, North Macedonia.

As we are anticipating the second Academy session, that will take place in the upcoming week

in Durrës, Albania, we are sharing a recollection of the last year’s atmosphere.

The Academy was attended by numerous literary management professionals from the EU and

the Western Balkan countries. During the five-day programme, experienced book and cultural

policy professionals were giving presentations, panel discussions and hands-on workshops.

Sesioni i parë i Akademisë Ndërkombëtare të Projektit Balkan Translations Collider për

Menaxhimin Letrar dhe Promovimin e Përkthimit u mbajt pranverën e kaluar në qytetin e bukur

të Strugës në Maqedonisë e Veriut.

Teksa jemi në pritje të sesionit të dytë të Akademisë, që do të zhvillohet javën e ardhshme në

Durrës, Shqipëri, po ndajmë një kujtim të atmosferës së vitit të kaluar.

Akademia u ndoq nga profesionistë të shumtë të menaxhimit letrar nga BE dhe vendet e

Ballkanit Perëndimor. Gjatë programit pesë-ditor, profesionistë me përvojë të fushës së librit

dhe politikave kulturore bënë prezantime, morën pjesë në panele diskutimesh dhe seminare

praktike.

Damir Šodan - REZIDENCA LETRARE "POETEKA - TIRANA IN BETWEEN" 2023

Rezidenca "POETEKA - Tirana in Between", kjo hapësirë e krijuar për shkrimtarët dhe përkthyes letrarë nga BE dhe Europa Juglindore, në vitin e 10-të të themelimit të saj, përveç shkrimtares dhe gazetares Sladjana Nina Perković, sjell në kryeqytetin shqiptar edhe poetin, dramaturgun, redaktorin dhe përkthyesin e njohur Damir Šodan.

Damir Šodan ka lindur në Split të Kroacisë. U diplomua në për Letërsi dhe Histori angleze Universitetin e Zagrebit. Nga viti 1996 e deri në 2022 ai ka botuar 7 përmbledhje me poezi, tre vëllime me drama, publikuar në vitet 2002, 2009 dhe 2023, një antologji poetike të "neorealistëve" bashkëkohorë kroatë (2010) si dhe ka përkthyer një antologji të poezisë europiane (2022). 

Damir Šodan u nderua me çmimin e parë në konkursin e shkrimit dramatik për shkrimtarët ish-jugosllavë, (Vjenë, 2000) për komedinë e zezë Zonë e Sigurt dhe me çmimin letrar "Držić" për burleskën Chick Lit (2012). 

Në skenën letrare vepra e tij është paraqitur ndër të tjera në „The American Poetry Review" (2007), në „New European Poets", (Graywolf Press, USA, 2008), sikurse është botuar edhe në „Les Poètes de la Méditerranée" (Gallimard, 2010), në „The World Record" dhe „A Hundred Years War (Bloodaxe, 2012 dhe 2014). 

Damir Šodan ka përkthyer në kroatisht veprat e Charles Simic-it, Raymond Carver-it, Leonard Cohen-in, Charles Bukowski-it, Richard Brautigan-it, Frank O'Hara-s, Ron Padgett-it dhe shumë poetëve të tjerë të Amerikës së Veriut. 

Për më shumë se dy dekada ai punoi si përkthyes për Kombet e Bashkuara në Holandë, ndërsa tani është shkrimtar dhe përkthyes i pavarur letrar. Damir Šodan është redaktor i asociuar i revistës „Poezija" në Zagreb dhe anëtar i Shoqatës së Shkrimtarëve Kroatë (HDP) dhe P.E.N. Qendrës.  Damir Šodan jeton në Hagë, Holandë dhe Split, Kroaci, por gjatë verës së vitit 2023 ai do të qëndrojë një muaj si mik në Rezidencën Letrare "POETEKA - Tirana in Between", mbështetur nga TRADUKI.
