Cord Pagenstecher - TIRANA IN BETWEEN LITERATURE AND TRANSLATION RESIDENCY!

🏡 POETEKA welcomed the new translator resident at TIRANA IN BETWEEN LITERATURE AND TRANSLATION RESIDENCY! Cord Pagenstecher  - a literary translator from  Germany. 

✍ Cord Pagenstecher  is a literary translator from Albanian into German. He translated the memoirs of an Albanian partisan deported to a concentration camp in Germany, "Girl with the number 67 203 / Vajza me numĂ«r 67 203", by Liri and Miro Xhunga.
 
📚 He is the author of monographs and edited volumes such as: Liri und Miro Xhunga, Das MĂ€dchen mit der Nummer 67 203. Albanische Partisaninnen im KZ RavensbrĂŒck. Übersetzt, eingeleitet und herausgegeben, Berlin: Metropol 2021; Erinnern an Zwangsarbeit. Zur Geschichte der „Gastarbeit" in der Bundes-republik, Berlin 1994She won the Literary Prize of the Bulgarian National Book Center in 2016 in the category 'Translation' for the translation of the historical novels by Vera Mutafchieva 'Alcibiades the Great' and 'The Case of Jem' (Sandorf, 2016) and for the translation of the novel '18% Gray' by Zahari Karabashliev (Hena.com, 2016).

✒️ During her residency stay at Sofia Literature and Translation House, Cord will work for the translation of the book "Larg dhe mes njerĂ«zve" by Liri Lubonja into German. In "Larg dhe mes njerĂ«zve. Kujtime internimi 1973-1990" ("Far away and among people. Memories of Internment 1973 – 1990"), the Albanian intellectual Liri Lubonja (1926-2021) recounts 17 years of internment during Enver Hoxha's dictatorship. She describes everyday life in socialist Albania as a woman, intellectual
