✍️ On the 19th of October, the translator in residence #Cord Pagenstrecher held a public reading and open discussion on the book he translated from Albanian into German "Away and among people. Memories of deportation 1973-1990", written by author Liri Lubonja, politically persecuted by the communist regime.
✍️ The publisher of the book in Germany #Feride Berisha and the well-known Albanian publicist #Fatos Lubonja, son of the author, joined this event bringing more insights about the situation of persecuted women under the communist regime in Albania. The publisher highlighted that the book was received with interest by readers in Germany, who find similarities about certain aspects of the communist regimes in many countries of Eastern Europe.
✍️ Actress and young translator #Belkisa Zhelegu reading passages from the book highlighted the importance of this book for the education of younger generations to understand the atrocities of the totalitarian regime in Albania.
