application for Lead Expert
In the framework
of the Cultural Cooperation Projects in the Western Balkans “Strengthening
cultural cooperation with and competiveness of cultural and creative industries
in the Western Balkans”/ BALKAN TRANSLATIONS COLLIDER / “Collider” Poeteka
Association is seeking the professional service of a Lead Expert to work for
the preparation of a Report on: evidence, analyses and recommendations on
Balkan literatures in translation, related to the Work Package 2 of this
project.
Context
The Balkan
Translation Collider project is born out of the common commitment of literary
NGOs, associations, small publishing businesses, literary agents, book fairs/
festivals organisers and city authorities - to overcome the barriers to
literary cooperation within the Western Balkans and between the region and the
EU.
The Collider
project’s overall aim is to strengthen the cultural actors involved in
literary exchange between the Balkans and the rest of Europe by offering
practical knowledge and skills and by creating new regional, inter-sectoral and
international contacts. Among others this project aims to offer and disseminate
widely a reliable, evidence-based overview of the current presence of Balkan
literatures in translation and identify existing channels, stakeholders,
practices, policies and challenges; create conditions for a dialogue and coordination
between the independent sector, cultural industries and the public sector
around the common mission in promotion of literature and offer a blueprint,
strategies and tools for a new kind of foreign literary policy.
Description of
required service
Poeteka
Association, part of consortium of this project is seeking the professional
service of a Lead Expert to work on the Report on: evidence, analyses
and recommendations on Balkan literatures in translation, related to the Work
Package 2.
The selected
candidate will be responsible for the preparation of the research study on
Albanian as a source language, including translations of authors from Kosovo
and Albania. In addition, this assignment includes the following tasks:
ü
Review of existing resources,
ü
Elaboration of a roadmap of the
research process,
ü
Coordination and supervision of
the work of the expert
ü
Preparation of the final report
and full elaboration of policy recommendations and conclusions
Working
language for this assignment is English.
Period
of assignment: 1 May – 20 December 2021
Duration
of assignment: 10 days

Requirements
ü University
degree, preferably Master or PhD diploma in literature studies, or humanities
ü Previous
experience with literary publication, translation
ü At
least 5 years with research experience in the above-mentioned specialities
ü Full
English language proficiency (C2 level)

candidate will be responsible for the preparation of the research study on

Preparation of the qualitative
data
ü
Working based on a roadmap for
the realization of the research process,

Contribution to the final
